SLOW FLOW Description: After the essential warm up that includes breath work and poses to wake up core, spine and the bigger muscles you will be guided slowly and mindfully through sun salutations. Variations are offered to work you at the edge of your comfort zone, not past it. After linking movement to breath in the slow flow, longer holds in poses are introduced to build heat and stamina. Options and time is given to find your ‘sweet spot’; the perfect version of each pose (modified or advanced) for you.

When suitably prepared, your body and mind are ready to go deeper in the final cool down section of the class. With stretches and rest down time, your mind is ready to let go. Each class will have a theme eg. Hip openers, Inversions, Centering, Being kind to yourself.

FREE FLOW Description: No Free Flow classes are scheduled at this stage. Please stay tuned. This is an alignment-based flow that moves to a quicker rhythm than the Slow Flow – and most likely to quite a bit of music! Linking each developing movement and asana to breath, we will use dynamic transitions to pick up the pace. Taking time to settle into your breath and warm up your body then add in some playful salutations and progress in to further standing, twisting, folding, balancing, strengthening and opening poses. Moving the body in a mindful, meditative flow, the class winds down to cool the body, to rest and restore. Rather than static holds, this class brings focus to how asanas, salutations, breath and transitions all link together, and aims to enhance the time you do spend in more static poses.

Some Hatha yoga experience is beneficial to make the most of your time in Free Flow.

Restorative

Tuesdays w/ Trish
6:30pm – 7:30pm (60mins)

Fridays w/ Trish
6:15pm – 7:15pm (60mins)

These restorative yoga classes consist of deep stretches designed to shed stress allowing space for healing. It’s all about letting go, transformation through surrender instead of effort.

There’s definitely no work out here. You will stay in each pose passively for three to five minutes allowing time for your connective tissue to soften and stretch. This opens the pathways for nutrients to strengthen your muscles and energy to flow freely throughout your body, a perfect complement to your dynamic practice. After the stretches and a guided relaxation a sweet, brief meditation follows.

Meditation

Thursdays w/ PremKranti
6:30pm – 7:30pm (60mins) Currently on hold whilst PremKranti is away.

This one hour class  includes guided meditation, breathing practices and time for questions/discussion on a different theme each week. Beginners are welcome and experienced meditators get to deepen their practice. The support of a group is very helpful and motivating. Chairs and equipment are provided.
In meditation practice, sometimes progress can feel slow and yet, changes are happening. Research proves that regular mindfulness meditation practice increases your ability to manage stress, improves focus and brings a greater sense of well being into your daily life.
A certain humility is required to practice meditation as we need to be able to go back to the beginning. The mind wanders and we invite it back, ah yes, the breath! Over and over again. To begin with an open curiosity every single time we sit.
